living in Taipei now and they charge for bags here. So most people bring their own. i think that way is better.

Make the one time investment into cloth bags and you're set. Those things last years.

I think its great, people just waste those things like crazy. I have been recycling 90% of my bags for the last year and plan on keeping it up.

We save all our plastic bags and reuse them.

Same here, I use them for trashbags, bringing my lunch to work, and I always try to bring them to the store when I go grocery shopping. I find that owning a decent backpack can seriously cut down on plastic bag consumption as well.
